2023 Boeing STEAM & Space Day

Join us for this one-day event filled with Teen STEM workshops, space missions, activities, lunch, and learning.

STEAM Academy at McCluer-South Berkeley High School

This FREE event is open to students in grades K-12 and their families. Please register in advance.
Teen workshops – space is limited; sign up by June 18th
Workshops are run by Boeing volunteers and other community partners, and are open to students ages 12-18. Workshops are free but spots are limited and pre-registration is required. Drop-off and pickup from southwest wing entrance of STEAM Academy.
Rocketry Workshop – 9:30-3:30
Build and launch a low-power Estes model rocket. While you wait for glue to dry, make some some other fun rockets too! (Lunch break from 12:00-1:00.)
Sphero Robotics Programming Workshop – 9:30-12:00
Drive Sphero robots and program them to properly and safely navigate an airport-themed course.
Make & Take Robots Workshop – 1:00-3:30
Use batteries, motors, and every-day supplies to make several simple-circuit robots.
Arduino Coding (Tentative) – 9:30-3:00
Use Arduino microprocessors to program an “airplane” to light up and spin its engines in the right sequence. (Registration will open once volunteer co-leaders are confirmed.)
