The Challenger Learning Center-St. Louis has received a grant from The Boeing Company for its new “STEM Igniter” program. The program will serve over 1,300 underserved elementary and middle school students in the St. Louis region and will include simulated space missions, engineering design challenge workshops, planetarium programs, classroom activities, and professional development workshops.
The multi-faceted program will focus on increasing students’ knowledge, interest and confidence in pursuing a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). Equally important is also helping students understand the importance of and improving teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
